I subscribe to the philosophy that awards are decidedly not everything. In fact, they’re far from everything. But in an industry where the undercurrent to produce status-quo work is all too mighty, I believe they do have merit. They celebrate the hard work that goes into not only coming up with a big idea—but actually getting it approved and produced. They attract talent for agencies and in-house. And they show where great work is getting out the door, for those looking to push their own work further.
